Hi, we’re Brad and Renee, the photographers of 85mm Photography.

We have been married for 15 years and have been operating 85mm Photography for almost the entire time. In 2013 we left our full-time jobs and made wedding photography our sole livelihood. Within a couple of years, we started to burn out. We were taking quality photos, but the work just didn’t excite us anymore. We considered hanging it up, but in a last-ditch effort to keep pushing forward, we decided to focus all of our effort on reaching a higher skill level and developing a style of our own. We didn’t want to take photos just like everyone else – that’s boring and unfulfilling. Instead, we spent thousands of hours looking for ways to improve every aspect of our photography. The photos we produce today are the result of that hard work and education.

While we have both enjoyed photography for longer than we have known each other, the transformation of our style and brand has reinvigorated us. We LOVE photographing weddings and constantly push ourselves to improve our craft. This allows us to always deliver our best work to our clients while constantly creating new art and unique photos.

In 2018, our oldest child was diagnosed with a brain tumor. While the entire ordeal only lasted 3 weeks, it turned our world upside down and gave us a new perspective on family and memories. It was inevitable that this would find its way into our photography as well. We are a bit older than most of our couples, and we have found that this helps us to make a connection with more than just the bride and groom. We are not many years from watching our own daughter walk down the aisle, which helps us have a better understanding and appreciation of how your parents and grandparents see your wedding day. This allows us to take a longer view while creating the wedding photos that will shape your memories for decades.
